Animal facility

The new animal house meets the standards concerning the breeding and use of trial animals for performance of biological studies for research and development goals within GLP regimen and in accordance with the OECD methods and for the breeding and supply of SPF laboratory animals and conventional laboratory animals.

Due to the increasing production volume of veterinary medicinal products in the Bioveta, a. s. Company, higher requirements for keeping laboratory animals with emphasis to their welfare and monitoring of zoo-hygienic parameters from the point of control authorities and legislation and in the last but not least place due to the increasing number of research and developmental projects in the Bioveta Company, appeared the need to increase the stabling capacity for laboratory animals in the required quality and volume.

Such requirements resulted in the project and subsequent realisation of building the new animal house of barrier type. The arrangement and technical parameters (pressure cascade, infectious section, non-infectious section, material and personal gates, decontamination system, etc.) of the animal house is intended for biological studies for research and developmental goals within the regimen of good laboratory practice in accord with the OECD methods and for breeding laboratory animals (SPF laboratory animals, conventional laboratory animals).

The new unique animal house in Bioveta was festively opened on the 20. 5. 2008.
